Indian Shisha (mirror) Embroidery
Shisha (the Hindi word for “little glass”) embroidery is also known as mirror-work or abla embroidery. Originally, pieces of mica were used as the mirrors, but later, thin blown-glass pieces were broken and used. Today, small mirrors are commercially available for shisha embroidery. If you use these, make sure to file the edges first so the mirrors aren’t sharp. For more details and tutorial, Click the Tutorial link.

Leaft craft
This summery runner is 86 inches long; you can add or subtract leaves, depending on the length of your table. Handmade napkins can coordinate with either linens or tableware.
For the Runner:1. Using our leaf template, cut 27 leaves from linen (we used celadon, mint, and lemon).
2. Use a 1/2-inch-wide strip of store-bought single-fold bias tape and the one-step binding method to create a border along one side of each leaf, from tip to tip. There is no need to finish the tape's ends.
3. Bind the opposite side of each leaf with a separate length of bias tape, covering raw edges at tips with an overlap finish.
4. Arrange leaves in desired pattern; pin, and hand-stitch together.

Singleton Button
A Singleton button is a kind of Dorset button, and it gets its name not from Bridget Jones, but from the Singleton family, who first made them in the 1600s. The fun thing about Singleton buttons is that you can make them from so many pretty fabrics. I love the idea of a row of coordinating Singleton buttons decorating a tote bag, or bright floral Singletons gracing the front of a simple white shirt.

Spring Skirt
The "pattern" for this strippy skirt is a rectangle of fusible interfacing that's 7 inches wide and as long as your widest hip measurement. All you have to do is sew darts along the rectangle to make the top edge equal your waist measurement (while keeping the bottom edge the same). If you don't think you have enough fabric to make enough strips to fit across your shaped interfacing, you can cut some strips out of a coordinating fabric—that looks great, too!

Spring Centerpiece
This spring display is based loosely on the centerpiece I made for fall. I like to imagine that nature took its course and magically transformed my fall centerpiece into this sweet spring wonderland. The leaves and acorns fell off for winter, the branches started blooming, and birds made their nests in the little branches.
